Posted September 10, 2008 - According to a new report by the 25 in 5 Network for Poverty Reduction, Ontarians have told MPPs in consultations over the summer that a only a comprehensive multi-year plan, and not just a set of quick fixes, will seriously tackle poverty problems in the province.

Legal clinic sets up hotline for reporting bad immigration consultants
Posted September 2, 2008 - At a press conference on Sept. 4, 2008, Downtown Legal Services will announce its "Bad Consultant Hotline". The hotline will be launched Sept. 22 and victims of unscrupulous immigration consultants are invited to share their stories. Information collected will be submitted to Parliament when the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration tables its report on immigration consultants.

Ontario government launches 'Justice Ontario' web site and hotline
Posted August 27, 2008 - The Ministry of the Attorney General has launched Justice Ontario, a one-stop entry point to help Ontarians find answers about the justice system. There is a web site and also a telephone hotline that offers access to the same information in more than 170 languages.

Report recommends victim advocate and financial help for 'forgotten' crime victims in Ontario
