Ontario Ombudsman to investigate Special Investigations Unit

Refugee, civil liberties groups call for end to security certificates

CMHC rental survey reveals increasing trouble for Ontario renters
Posted June 7, 2007 - Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's (CMHC) national survey of the rental housing market reveals that average rents in Ontario for two bedrooms went up over the last six months. “The lack of affordable housing in this province has a profoundly negative impact on the social well-being of our residents and the economy," said Mary Truemner at the Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario.
